Interweaving 16mm 1930s film footage with interview material and animated sequences, the documentary HYBRID looks back on the life of Milford Beeghly, a devoted and revolutionary farmer in Great Depression Iowa. Obsessed with the idea of enhancing the corn crop, Beeghly was ahead of his time in terms of his agricultural ideas. But while he was a clear pioneer in the field, Beeghly was less attentive at home, where his wife and children felt their connections to the man pale in comparison to how he felt about corn itself.
