Where North Holds Sway (1927, B&W, Silent): Handsome hero Jack Perrin burst onto the screen in the silent era, headlining action-packed features, serials and shorts set in the Old West and north of the border. Rance Raine of the Northwest Mounted Police is devoted to his brother Harvey and horrified when his sibling is murdered by gambler Jules Landeau. Rance resigns from the Mounties and poses as a badman in order to lure Landeau back to the town where Rance plans to exact a shocking revenge. Starring Jack Perrin, Pauline Curley, Buzz Barton, Lew Meehan, Hal Waters; Written and directed by Ben Cohn.
Shooting Square (1924, B&W, Silent): Dan Dawson, a new hand at the Lazy X Ranch, stands up to Macy, the bullying foreman, and beats him in a fight. Fired by the ranch owner, Macy begins a life of crime and, to evade the law, disguises himself as a minister. Asked to perform the wedding of Dan and the ranch owner's daughter Ruth, the devilish Macy accepts. After the ceremony, Dan and Ruth, not really married, leave on their honeymoon.
